March 13, 1947 - May 22, 2016

It is with great sadness in our hearts we say so long to Al who passed away unexpectedly. Eldest son of Florence and Carl (Tubby) Thulin, Al was loved and will be missed by his wife Susan and his brothers Glen, Gary and Dean, along with his sister-in-laws and extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Earlier in life Al put his hand to various careers but he and Sue decided to return to Campbell River where he was born and raised and here they built and operated The Willows Neighbourhood Pub for 27 years before retiring in 2014.

Many of you will remember his and Sue’s commitment to the community he loved, supporting so many events and sports teams through The Willows.

Al made many friends over the years and was happy to live life and all it offered. He loved to share tales and relive his adventures of his fishing, hunting and golf trips. The stories included the extended travels of Europe and Asia he and Sue shared along with the many sailing adventures with Sue.

Recently Al scratched that travel bug again and enjoyed a cruise so much so that he had just booked another cruise.

Most of all Al enjoyed his family and took great pleasure in partaking in the family gatherings, sharing the stories of growing up, and the times shared with family and friends.

Join us to remember Al and his life's adventures on Thursday, July 21st from 2-4pm at the Maritime Heritage Centre. A time for us all to share stories and memories of Al
