Al Tiemens passed away peacefully on October 22, 2018 at the Campbell River Hospital. Al was born on May 23, 1926 in Deventer Holland. Predeceased by his wife Kay in 2011 and his daughter Denise in 2017. He will be dearly missed by his son Bruce (Michelle), daughter Tracy (Gavin), son-in-law Tom Finlay, his grandchildren Conor, Devin (Mahsa), Taylor (Ashleigh), Carson, Rhys, Annaliese and step grandchildren Hanna, Lauren and Keaton.

Al immigrated to Canada in 1953, married Kay and moved to Ocean Falls in 1955 beginning his long career in the pulp and paper industry. In 1972 Al transferred to the Elk Falls mill and retired in 1986. Al was a proud member of the Daybreak Rotary Club for 40 years, he enjoyed spending time with family, golfing at Storey Creek, swimming every morning, skiing at Mount Washington, social events and traveling with family and friends. Al was a man of principal, full of integrity and innovation, and was a dignified and respected man who shared his home and gave back to the community. Al will be missed.

There will be a celebration of life at Sequoia Springs Golf Club, 700 Petersen Road Sunday, November 25th at 1:00 pm.
