Oct 31, 1923 - Dec 22, 2017
Noreen ended her fight with dementia December 22, 2017 with her daughter Coreen by her side when the Christmas Angel came to take her home.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Millar, sister and brother-in-law Ruby and Jim Clarkson and brother Alex Robertson.

Noreen was born in Bevan on Halloween night in 1923 to her recently widowed mother Matilda Nelson.  Her father, Alexander Robertson, was killed in a coal mine disaster in Cumberland, leaving her mother a widow with three young children to raise.

Noreen had a happy childhood, always helping friends and neighbours. In 1945, she married Millar Clarkson and enjoyed 51 years of happy marriage.

They moved to Campbell River in 1957 when Millar opened Clarkson's Power Saw Shop.

Noreen volunteered at the Red Cross Blood Donors, Hospital Thrift Shop and Campbell River Genealogy Society for many years. She knit, crocheted, enjoyed camping and fishing, carving Jack o lanterns, played cards, softball, badminton, and was an avid curler until her mid 80s. She played to win.

She kept a neat and tidy house and yard, if a leaf dared to fall from the tree, it would be quickly swept up into her dustpan.

She is survived by her only child, Coreen and her nephews and nieces, Bob (Charlotte), Ron (Donna), Allan (Kathy), Sharon (Don) Cathey, Marilyn King, Heather (Brian) Johnson and Noreen (Ben) Anderson and Sister-in-law Viola Ganderton.€

"Aunty" had a zest for life and will be sorely missed by those who loved her.

A special Thank You to the staff, nurses, caregivers, dieticians and housekeepers of Yuculta Lodge who responded so lovingly to Mom's witty and colourful sense of humour.

A memorial service will be held for her in the Spring.
