Kenneth Lloyd Chase was born in Stenen, Saskatchewan in 1929 and passed away on January 11, 2018 at the age of 88.

Ken grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan and then as a young man trained as a mechanic which helped give him a life long perspective that anything could be repaired and that any problem could be solved.

At the encouragement of friends, Ken and his wife Sarah moved to Campbell River to pursue job opportunities. After a short period of road building, Ken began a long career at Elk Falls lumber mill where he made many life long friends.

After acquiring a residential lot from Dr. Murphy, with the help of friends, a modest house was built in 1956 which was his home for the rest of his years. The numerous dances that took place on the farm in his earlier years made Ken a graceful dancer and the new house's basement held many fun dances during his time there.

Passionate about sports, Ken was a founding member of the CR Curling Club and the Storey Creek Golf  Society, and continued to participate actively in both sports right until he passed. He also loved to fish and liked nothing better than taking out family or fishing with a friend.

Watching his granddaughters grow into successful young women and following their adventures gave him great pleasure.

Ken was a true gentle-man; always considering other people's feelings before his own and always ready to help friends, family and others. He was the epitome of what it means to be loving, patient and kind.

"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self control"
