The city is exploring ways to further improve Public Notices.
Council procedures Bylaw No. 3987, 2025, and Public Notice Bylaw No. 3988, 2025, will be considered for third reading at the Council meeting on March 13, 2025. If given third reading the bylaws could be considered for adoption at the following Council meeting on March 27, 2025.
If the Council Procedures Bylaw is adopted:
The City’s public notice posting place will be updated to the agenda holder in the foyer at City Hall (301 St Ann’s Road) and a public notice board outside of City Hall.
If the Public Notice Bylaw is adopted:
The first notice in the City’s public notice process will be posted on the city’s website; and
The second notice will be posted on the City’s social media.
An additional notice that directs the public to the City website will be placed in the local newspaper.
The proposed bylaws support open, transparent, and accessible public communication.
