Students at Ecole Phoenix Middle School walked out of class Wednesday morning to stage their own protest about the contract dispute between the provincial government and the B.C. Teachers’ Federation.

The province-wide student protest was driven by social media, but few students in Campbell River took part in the rally as most elected to stay in classrooms. Regardless, Campbell River students have today off due to the rotating teachers’ strike and are expected to be off for another school day next week.
