Work will begin on the Jubilee Heights subdivision on Monday creating Campbell River’s latest neighbourhood development that will open both residential and village/commercial opportunities in the region.

Jubilee Heights is a planned community that was adopted by the City of Campbell River in 2011 and included in the city’s Official Community Plan. It is being developed by Couverdon Real Estate, the real estate business of TimberWest and the Jubilee Heights developer. The company has been working with the City of Campbell River, Highland Engineering, Mainstream Biological Consulting and other local community stewardship groups to design a walkable community that will serve as the community hub providing all the necessary amenities to the established South Dogwood/Jubilee residential neighbourhood.

Ross McKeever, Director of Real Estate Development and Sales for Couverdon, says in a press release, “We are pleased to work with the City on this great opportunity to complement the neighbourhood with much needed lot inventory and community amenities.”

The Jubilee Heights area encompasses approximately 166 acres with development to be phased over 10 to 12 years. Phase 1, to be completed and sold in 2018, will be residential and will offer a number of single family lots.

Phase 1 construction will begin the week of Feb. 19 and will involve preparation and clearing of land, as well as the immediate construction of a trail along the west side South Dogwood Street to accommodate continued convenient, enjoyable and safe access to the Beaver Lodge lands from South Alder Street.

For the purpose of everyone’s protection and safety, public access to the Jubilee Heights lands will be restricted during construction. The public is asked to respect and abide by posted signage during this time.

With the exception of building the trail along the west side of South Dogwood Street, construction activities for Jubilee Heights Phase 1 will be on site and away from surrounding neighbourhoods and traffic. Traffic impacts and disturbances are expected to be minimal, however during construction, commercial vehicles will access and exit the site at Erickson Road from time to time.

The public is invited to visit www.jubileeheights.com to access full information about the new development, and to visit our social media channels to receive timely information and updates as they occur.

About Jubilee Heights:
