A fin whale mother and calf were spotted in Johnstone Strait near Kelsey Bay by local adventure tourism operator Jack Springer. This is the first time that Springer has ever seen fin whales in local waters in all of the years he’s been working on the coast. Normally inhabitants of the Arctic, they can grow to up to 60 feet long.
