Wanted: A few good searchers

Campbell RIver Search and Rescue has a few openings this fall for the volunteer positions

Campbell River Search and Rescue (SAR) is looking for a few good men and women to join the group.

There’s room for a limited number of applicants this fall. Applicants must be 19 years or older, submit to a criminal and driver’s record check, take a First Aid course, and attend an orientation meeting and personal interview.

Those selected will participate in the Justice Institute of B.C. ground SAR education program which is roughly 80 hours of field and classroom education.

After passing, new members can expect to take part in ground, water and alpine rescues, provide First Aid as well as medical evacuations.

Campbell River has a very busy group and covers a large territory – the whole North Island and the mainland coast.

Application forms can be downloaded from www.crsar.ca or pick one up in person from the Campbell River Volunteer Centre located in the basement at city hall.

Get your applications in well before the Oct. 10 orientation session.
