A logging truck lost its load after failing to negotiate a turn at Echo Lake, 17 kilometres west of Campbell River this morning around 10:30 a.m.
An ambulance left the scene with lights flashing after the truck rolled onto its side at the east end of the small lake west of Campbell River. Traffic was backed up in both directions briefly until one lane was opened just after 11 a.m. This was the second accident on the highway, albeit in different locations on Highway 28 in four days.
Police are still on the scene. See campbellrivermirror.com and Wednesday’s Campbell River Mirror for more details as they become available.
