Trial begins for Campbell River homicide

Woman accused of killing her common-law husband April 2, 2010

A jury trial starts Friday in B.C. Supreme Court for a woman accused of killing her common-law husband.

The body of 55-year-old Christopher Warren was discovered April 2, 2010, in an apartment at 645-9th Ave. Warren shared the apartment with his common-law wife, Linda Mitchell, 53, who was arrested the same day and later charged with murder.

This week in supreme court in Campbell River, the judge listened to a three-day voir dire to determine the admissibility of evidence slated to be heard at trial.

That process is expected to be completed for the jury trial to begin today (Friday) at 10 a.m.
