Tagger bust leads to indoor pot crop find

Youth is believed to be behind several spray painted tags resulting in approximately $20,000 damage

After a few months investigating specific tagging incidents around the city, the Mounties had their prime suspect.

It was a kid living on Quinsam Road.

According to Campbell River RCMP, the youth is believed to be behind several spray painted tags resulting in approximately $20,000 damage to property and buildings.

On Tuesday, police executed a search warrant on the suspect’s residence and recovered several items related to the tagging incidents.

They also found more: an indoor marijuana operation with 330 plants in various stages of growth.

The youth could be facing multiple counts of mischief while two adult home owners are facing possible charges of production of a controlled substance and production for the purpose of trafficking.

Their names were not released.

Police are also asking the public to report any incidents of tagging.
