Street piano needed (and any rock stars who'd like to play it)

The BIA wants to know if anyone has a piano in good working condition they would like to donate.

And maybe, we'll be lucky like Kelowna and have a rock star come by and play it. Steve Tyler plunked himself down and played that city's public piano (see video).

In 2011 the Downtown Business Improvement Association (BIA) introduced its first Street Piano.

The piano formed part of the entertainment at the Arts Festival later that year.

Over 100 people took up a paint brush and left their mark on the piano.

The following year, another piano was donated and again, was painted at the Arts Festival.

Both pianos have been and continue to be enjoyed by locals and visitors.

The pianos are moved from business to business, from event to event.

Special supports were built for the pianos to help with stability and ease of movement.  However, the second piano is extremely heavy and has broken one of the support wheels.  It takes two men to manouevre.

The BIA needs a smaller, lighter piano.

Now the BIA wants to know if anyone has a piano in good working condition they would like to donate.

The BIA would be happy to pick it up.

If possible, they would like to have the piano for the July 25 Arts Festival.
