In what has become a Labour Day tradition, the Museum at Campbell River fired up its 1916 Empire Steam Donkey on Monday.

The restored log winch delights steam engineering heritage buffs young and old. The machine was used to haul logs out of a clearcut as demonstrated by the model version in the bottom left picture.
