After the murder of Canadian soldiers Nathan Cirillo and Patrice Vincent in Ottawa and St-Jean-sur-Richelieu last week, Campbell Riverites felt compelled to honour them and all military personnel in spontaneous demonstrations of sympathy on Saturday at the Campbell River Cenotaph. Here Anthony DeHaas places a bouquet to honour the fallen soldiers in memory of his own family members who served in the military and through his own connection with security service at the airport. Also on Saturday, local military veterans and an RCMP veteran gathered to stand on guard symbolically at the cenotaph while other residents placed flowers.
