Dispute Sends Male to Hospital

At 8 p.m. on Sunday, Campbell River RCMP were informed by Campbell River General Hospital staff of a male patient suffering from a wound to his head.

The follow-up investigation led to the arrest of a female and execution of a search warrant at a residence on Redonda Way, Campbell River RCMP Staff Sgt. Troy Beauregard said. Evidence was located at the scene to support charges.

A 64-year-old female from Campbell River will be facing charges of assault with a weapon and will be appearing in Provincial Court April 3.

Assault Causing Bodily Harm

At 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Campbell River RCMP responded to a report of an assault on Cypress Street.

A female was with a group of people at that location when another female known to her approached, Beauregard said. The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim until she was pulled off by others present. The suspect then fled.

Police attended, along with BC Ambulance. The victim was treated by the ambulance crew.

Police located the suspect, a 34-year-old Campbell River resident, and arrested her. She was expected to appear in court on Monday.

Assault With A Weapon

At 5 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence on Elkhorn Road in Campbell River.

Upon arrival, police located a male suffering from a wound to his arm. A female was present and was attempting to provide first aid to the injury.

Investigation at the scene revealed that the female was responsible for the injury to the male.

The victim was treated and transported to Campbell River General Hospital for treatment. The 23-year-old female was arrested and held in custody.

The suspect was released on a number of conditions and will be appearing in court in May.
