School meetings changed to be more inclusive

The Campbell River school district is changing the focus of its Education Committee Meetings

The board of education has decided to change the format of the district’s Education Committee Meetings in an attempt to make them more valuable for trustees, parents and school communities.

Meetings will now be held three times a year – fall, winter and spring – and centred on a district educational focus instead of on an individual school.

The meetings will still be held on a rotational basis within schools, however all parents and community members will be invited to attend as opposed to just those affiliated with that particular school.

It is hoped these meetings will create opportunities to have more regular community conversations about what is happening throughout the school district.
