RCMP apprehend Comox robbery suspect

The Comox Valley RCMP have one suspect in custody in relation to the Coastal Community Credit Union Bank robbery in Comox and the BMO in Campbell River last week.

After an extensive investigation by the Comox Valley RCMP's General Investigation Section, and assistance from many people from our community, a search warrant was executed Dec.13.

It was at that time that a 25-year-old Merville man was arrested. The man is believed to be responsible for the Comox and the Campbell River robberies which occurred on Dec. 9.

The suspect will remain in custody until Jan. 2, 2014, when he will appear on two counts of robbery.
