Council gave the green light to a developer looking to build a private boat moorage facility behind the applicant’s home on Discovery Drive in the Painter-Barclay neighbourhood.
Council gave third reading and adoption to a bylaw that creates a new property zone to facilitate a ramp and boat lift platform in Discovery Passage.The new zone, Public Areas Three, will regulate the use of any private moorings going forward. The city’s Official Community Plan does not contemplate land use regulations within Discovery Passage and the city did not previously have a zoning bylaw allowing a private moorage facility as a permitted use for properties adjacent to Discovery Passage.
