Police warn of night time trespasser

A stranger attempted to look into the back windows of a home in the 700 block of Gemsbok Drive

Campbell River RCMP warn the public to secure their homes following a report of a man trespassing to peek into the window of a home in the Springbok area.

According to police, a stranger attempted to look into the back windows of a home in the 700 block of Gemsbok Drive just before midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

The suspect was likely scared off by the startled resident and fled before police arrived. Police conducted an extensive patrol of the area, however, the suspect was not found.

RCMP remind area residents to take precautions to secure their yards, use or install security lighting as required and to cut back overgrown vegetation that could be used as a hiding place. Anyone who witnesses any suspicious people or behaviour should make note and call police. Anyone with information on last week’s incident should call the Campbell River RCMP or Crimestoppers.
