Police on the look-out for gun-toting B&E suspect

A Campbell River home owner walked into his residence on Sunday evening and encountered the thief

Police are looking for a man suspected of committing an armed break-and-enter Sunday evening.

According to Campbell River RCMP, shortly before 6 p.m. a resident entered his home in the 500 block Petersen Rd., and encountered a gun-toting thief.

The homeowner fled to a neighbour's residence and called 911.

Several officers responded to the call and surrounded the home and property.

They searched, but the culprit was gone. The home owner's white Dodge van was stolen and found abandoned Monday on a logging road

The thief is described as a Caucasian man in his 30s, approximately 6'0", with short red-blonde hair. He has several tattoos on his his arms and was wearing a red shirt with cut off sleeves and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
