There is a heavy police presence at Dogwood and Alpine Road as investigators comb the scene.

The investigation into the suspicious death on Alpine Road continues with Campbell River RCMP Major Crime Unit awaiting the results of an autopsy.

Campbell River RCMP responded to a 911 call on Saturday at 8:26 a.m. to assist an ambulance with an unresponsive male outside a residence on Alpine Road at Dogwood Street.

Campbell River RCMP and BC Ambulance Service attended and found the male was deceased. Campbell River RCMP Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit attended and are currently on scene investigating and are treating his death as suspicious, Campbell River RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Poppy Hallam said.

The duplex at the corner of Dogwood and Alpine remains taped off as RCMP continues to investigate the scene. Blankets partially cover the entrance and open side of a carport.
