Nominate an outstanding citizen

The B.C. government is looking for some outstanding citizens.

A call for nominations has been issued for the Order of British Columbia, the highest honour the province can give its citizens in recognition of excellence and outstanding achievement. Karen Felker, coordinator of the program, wrote a letter to city council recently asking the mayor and councillors to get involved in spreading the word.

Coun. Charlie Cornfield suggested and council agreed to the city issuing a press release to notify Campbell Riverites of the opportunity.

The Order of British Columbia recognizes those who have volunteered their time to improve their community, have advocated for change, founded non-profit organizations or made a difference in people’s lives.

This year, all nominations must be received by Friday, March 4.
