No contract awarded for mobile MRI services

The health authority will continue to provide fixed location MRI scans at hospitals in Nanaimo and Victoria

Following a review of six proposals received in response to a Request for Proposal for mobile MRI services, the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) has decided not to award a contract to an external provider.

Instead, in the immediate future, the health authority will continue to provide fixed location MRI scans at hospitals in Nanaimo and Victoria.

As part of a larger provincial funding initiative, VIHA has received additional one-time funding this year to carry out more MRIs with the goal to reduce wait times.
