MP confirms destruction of long-gun registry records

The deletion of data in the long-gun registry follows Royal Assent of Bill C-19

John Duncan, Member of Parliament for Vancouver Island North and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development has confirmed that, with the exception of data for Quebec, all of the long gun registry data has been destroyed in accordance with Bill C-19, The Ending of the Long Gun Registry Act.

The deletion of data in the long-gun registry follows Royal Assent of Bill C-19 on April 5, 2012.

The data cannot be recovered.
