More awards for Mirror

The Campbell River Mirror is in the winner’s circle again, this time with Newspapers Canada, the national association of this country’s community newspapers.

In the annual Better Newspapers Competition, the Mirror has won first place for the best front page in Canada for its circulation class. The Mirror also won second place in Canada for Young Reader Engagement Initiative for the Carihi Mirror, its regularly-appearing news feature written by Carihi students.

This is all in addition to being a top three finalist for these provincial Ma Murray Awards being held on May 7:

  • Classifieds Award –  Rachel Beckley & team.
  • Newspaper  Excellence Award.
  • Best Special Section –  Michelle Hueller: Remembrance Day.
  • Michelle Hueller will receive the Silver Quill Award for 25 years of service in the industry.
