Make ElderCollege part of your active year

The new year is a time to reflect on the past and to plan the days ahead. Part of your strategy for 2016 may include learning something new or making the acquaintance of like-minded individuals. If so, then ElderCollege can help you.

Campbell River ElderCollege has been offering short courses and workshops at North Island College for the past eleven years. Courses are taught by volunteers and administered by volunteers with support from the college. The emphasis is on providing learning opportunities in a wide variety of subjects without the pressure of homework or tests. The courses run once a week for six to eight weeks. There are also short workshops of three or four hours. Fees for courses range from free up to $30. You must be age 50+ to join Campbell River ElderCollege and the annual membership fee is $10.

Starting in February there are courses in drawing and painting, genealogy, climate change, Italian and Spanish language, Microsoft Excel and much, much more. For a complete list of courses go to the website at nic.bc.ca/ec and click on “Campbell River ElderCollege Newsletter”.
