Campbell River needs sprucing up and the Downtown BIA needs your help.

On Sunday, from 7-10 a.m., BIA members will be on the streets with garden tools and leaf blowers tackling a much-needed spring cleaning. Tools, gloves, and garbage bags will be available to all who participate.

The BIA needs you to come out and help make your town shine before the tourists start to arrive.

“We should all consider what impression we want visitors to have of Campbell River,” said BIA Chair Erika Anderson. “Is this a community that takes pride in its appearance?  A city that is taken care of and open for business? Or one of neglect, weeds in the sidewalk cracks, gum sticking to the brick paving stones and cigarette butts in the planters?”

She also hopes the city will help by bringing in the street sweeper sometime this week as well as picking up the collected garbage.

The meeting point is Spirit Square.

Hot coffee will be ready at 7 a.m., so please bring your mug.
