First Tyee of the season

Paul MacDonald of Campbell River caught the first Tyee of the season at 5:45 this morning. It was a 30 lb. chinook caught on a spoon and rowed by R.D. Berger.

Paul McDonald of Campbell River (right) caught the first Tyee of the season this morning. It was a 30 lb tyee on spoon at 5:45 a.m. He was rowed by guide R.D. Berger. The legendary Tyee Club of B.C. promotes the catching of chinook salmon over 30 lbs on traditional tackle from a boat that is rowed. The Tyee season opened Aug. 1.
