Construction work begins at Campbell River Hospital

But don't get excited, it's not work beginning on the new hospital yet

There will be some construction activity at Campbell River Hospital over the next number of weeks.

But don't get excited, it's not work beginning on the new 95-bed, $266-million hospital yet.

What is taking place is installation of the parking pad for the coming mobile MRI service.

The facilities maintenance crew at Campbell River Hospital is also working on installing the sign for the North Island Hospitals Project on the hospital property, which is also in the same area as the pad construction.

The new hospital project is expected to go to procurement this spring, with construction planned to begin in 2013 and completion estimated for 2017.
