CANADA VOTES: Polls close in Campbell River

The election was called March 23 amid a trade war with the United States. A new federal government is expected to be named Monday night, as Canada’s 2025 snap election gets underway.

The election was called March 23 amid a trade war with the United States.

A new federal government is expected to be named Monday night, as Canada’s 2025 snap election gets underway. 

The main parties vying for the 343 seats in the House of Commons are Mark Carney’s Liberals, Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives, Jagmeet Singh’s New Democrats, Elizabeth May and Jonathan Pednault’s Greens, Yves-François Blanchet’s Bloc Quebecois and Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party of Canada. 

Campbell River falls within the riding of North Island-Powell River.
