Everyone at the Campbell River Special Olympics annual banquet gave a thumbs up at the end of the evening to say thank you.

Campbell River Special Olympics held its annual banquet and awards night June 16 at the Eagles Hall.

This year’s Athlete Awards winners were:

Spirit of Sport – Tye Cranton.

Maximum Effort Award – Dallas Flynn.

Margaret Eldering Award – Man Lok Au.

Coach of the Year – Cheryl Clay.

Volunteer of the Year – Lynne Macara.

Basketball – Most Sportsmanlike: Heather Paracy; Most Improved: Patrick Jules.

Bocce – Most Sportsmanlike: Dallas Flynn; Most Improved: Melissa Parkes.

Club Fit: Most Sportsmanlike: Chelsea Rinhofer; Most Improved: Chris Shaw and Michelle Rollo.

Curling: Most Sportsmanlike: Darcy Hutter; Most Improved: Martina Vincent.

Floor Hockey: Most Sportsmanlike: Andrew Caulfield; Most Improved: Chris Lee.
