Business Awards of Distinction nominations sought

Chamber of Commerce recognizes and celebrating business excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership

The  call for nominations for the 2014 Business Awards of Distinction is now open.

Nominate deserving businesses, organizations and individuals today. Self-nominations are also welcome. Join with the Campbell River Chamber of Commerce in recognizing and celebrating business excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership in our community. Qualifying nominees receive over $8,500 worth of promotional exposure.

The 2014 call for nominations will run until Friday, June 27. Nominations are open to all businesses, organizations and entrepreneurs in Campbell River and the surrounding area who demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and commitment to success.

“There is an abundance of great local businesses and organizations in our community that deserve to be recognized and celebrated. They are the backbone of our local economy and we would like to encourage everyone to take a minute to show your appreciation and send in a nomination,” said Colleen Evans, Chamber President & CEO. “Qualified nominees  will then receive extensive promotion leading up to the awards event to showcase the success of businesses, organizations and leaders in our community and the impact they are having on Campbell River.”

There are 10 award categories for nomination including: Micro, Small, Intermediate and Large Business of the Year as well as Young Entrepreneur, Not-for-Profit Business of the Year, Diversity Leadership Award, Community Spirit Award and Excellence in Workforce Development Award. All nominations will also be considered for the Environmental Business of the Year Award. Nominees can be nominated in more than one category and businesses, organizations and individuals are also encouraged to self nominate. Nominees will be contacted and asked to submit additional information to demonstrate their eligibility and become a qualified nominee. An independent panel of judges representing a broad range of Campbell River businesses and organizations will review and score each qualified nominee package received.

In addition to receiving up to $8,500 in promotional exposure, all qualified nominees will be honoured at an exclusive VIP Reception. The award recipients will be identified and announced at the Business Awards of Distinction Gala on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Tidemark Theatre.
