Black Creek-Oyster Bay Toilet Rebate Program Discontinued

The budget for the program has been re-diverted towards other needs of the service

The Black Creek-Oyster Bay (BCOB) water committee has recommended to the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) board of directors to discontinue the BCOB water local service area toilet rebate program effective Friday, March 30, in order to offset rising infrastructure costs and increasing user rates.

The budget for the program has been re-diverted towards other needs of the service.Last year’s pilot rebate program was offered to homeowners connected to the Black Creek-Oyster Bay water system on a first-come, first served basis while funds were available. Owners were eligible for a $75 rebate for installing high-efficiency (4.8 litre flush) or dual flush (usually three and six litre flush) CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved toilets. Toilets rebates were limited at two per installation address.

The CVRD will continue to process toilet rebate applications with receipts date stamped Jan. 1 - March 30, 2012 on a first-come-first-serve basis until Wednesday, May 31 2012. For more information visit www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/rebates.
