The Carihi Secondary School's swimming team sent four competitors to the BC School Sports (BCSS) Aquatics Championships on Nov. 15 and 16.

Four students will be competing in the Championships: Ava Herschler (50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly), Matthew Walls (50m backstroke, 100m freestyle), Claire Cooledge (100m individual medley) and Kai Jensen-West will link up with the other three for a 200m Mixed medley relay (each swimmer will do 50m of one stroke).

"They earned their spots by placing in the top five for each event at the BCSS Vancouver Island Zone swim meet in Nanaimo on Oct. 20," said Lisa Walls, a teacher sponsor for the swim team.

The Aquatics Champions took place at the Watermania Pool in Richmond, where the best high school swimmers competed against each other.
