Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League's (VIJHL) Campbell River Storm look to part with some history on Feb. 2.
"In creating the third uniform each year, there was a desire to return to a "retro" one, so we went with that," said Wes Roed, the Storm's director of hockey operations. "This uniform design was created for this year."
The Junior B hockey club plans to auction an exclusive jersey signed by the current roster. The jersey features the franchise's first logo, created in 1997 when the franchise was founded.
"We wanted a very exclusive "one only" to make available to the public in hopes it would create interest and a bidding war," said Roed.
The winning bid will be announced at the Storm's Scholarship Dinner and Auction on Feb. 2. All proceeds will go to the CR Storm Scholarship Fund. Bids can be submitted at
The uniforms will be presented to the players when the season ends.
