The Campbell River Cricket Club had a tough match against the Islanders Cricket Club on June 7.
Both clubs are part of the Victoria and District Cricket Association (VDCA), which features teams from all over the Island. The Islanders CC, based in Victoria, overcame the Campbell River team by seven wickets. The final score ended up 113/10 for Campbell River and 114/3 for the Islanders, meaning Campbell River scored 113 runs but lost 10 wickets.
"CRCC made a measly 113, which was chased down by the Islanders in just 36 overs with a loss of three wickets," said Aaron O'Shannessy, a player for the team who is also a former club captain, and a director and the treasurer for the club.
After the loss, Campbell River sits sixth in the eight-team Elite League, with one win, one draw, and one loss.
