The Strathcona Regional District will hold a public hearing about proposed changes to a bylaw that, if approved, will allow for liquor sales and a microbrewery at the Fisherman's Landing Lodge in the Discovery Islands.

The Strathcona Regional District will hold a public hearing about proposed changes to a bylaw that, if approved, will allow for liquor sales and a microbrewery at the Fisherman's Landing Lodge in the Discovery Islands.

If these changes get the green light, Bylaw No. 601 will change the zoning for the Commercial Two D (C-2D) zone to allow retail sales on the property and add a new definition for a microbrewery.

The public hearing on May 7 at 7 p.m. will be chaired by the Director of Electoral Area C.

Individuals who feel their interests may be impacted by the proposed bylaw amendments will have the chance to express their views during the public hearing, says the SRD.

Those who cannot attend in person may submit signed written comments to be included in the public hearing record, as long as these submissions are sent by mail, delivered in person to the SRD Community Services Desk, or emailed to planning@srd.ca by noon on May 7.

Submissions that fail to comply with these guidelines or are received after the public hearing has concluded will not be taken into account.

For more information, check out the public notice on the SRD website.
