Campbell River's Centennial Outdoor Pool reopened after chemical spill

The Centennial Outdoor Pool has reopened following a temporary closure due to a chemical spill. The pool reopened at 2:30 p.m. on June 5 and is following its usual schedule.

The Centennial Outdoor Pool has reopened following a temporary closure due to a chemical spill.

The pool reopened at 2:30 p.m. on June 5 and is following its usual schedule. Programming and events have resumed as previously scheduled, the Salmon Kings Swim Club will resume their regular practices, and visitors are welcome. 

A spill, involving a common chemical used in pool maintenance, occurred on June 4. The City of Campbell River Fire Department and other City staff, RCMP and BC Ambulance Services personnel responded. No injuries were reported. The City thanks all staff and supporting agencies for the prompt and professional response.
