Demolition is underway at Carihi Secondary School.
The school's A-wing is in the process of being demolished. The wing includes the teaching kitchen, band room, storage rooms and more. It was damaged during a fire last November when a fire ripped through the wing. The fire was caused by spontaneous combustion resulting from cooking oils on fabrics and heat after laundering with inadequate ventilation.
School District 72 hopes the demolition will be complete before students return from Spring Break (April 1).
