In light of high food prices, Greenways Land Trust is reminding people that the Good Food Box program can help people access affordable food.
“The Good Food Box Program is designed to empower individuals and families with access to affordable, fresh, and locally grown produce from nearby farms,” a release from Greenways says. “In a time when the cost of living continues to rise, this initiative aligns with Greenways Land Trust’s mission to promote healthy living, support local agriculture, and reduce food insecurity within our community.”
Two sizes are available. Participants can choose between a regular sized box or a subsidized box, without the need for income verification. The program operates on a biweekly order and pickup schedule, and boxes can be picked up at the Greenways Land Trust office.
“The goal is to eliminate barriers to nutritious food and ensure that quality produce is accessible to all members of our community,” the release says.
