Campbell River ElderCollege is offering a new lineup of courses. Registration begins Sept. 23 at 9 a.m.

If you are 50 years old or older and eager to expand your knowledge or learn a new skill, consider attending a meeting about the new offerings at Campbell River ElderCollege.

The meeting will be held at the Campbell River campus of North Island College on Friday, Sept. 20 at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Course leaders will speak about what’s available and answer any questions.

This is the program’s 20th year offering informative, interesting and inexpensive courses that provide lifelong opportunities for people 50-plus. From a humble start in 2004, providing just five courses, Campbell River ElderCollege has steadily grown course lists and membership. Members on the far side of 50 can now gain access to as many as 50 courses annually, at minimum cost and without the stress of grades or exams.

Campbell River ElderCollege is volunteer-run and self-funded. There are many volunteering opportunities available to maintain this organization, and ElderCollege is always looking for new course leaders, reads a media release from Sept. 11.

The public information meeting on Sept. 20 is being held in the Student Commons at North Island College (1685 S. Dogwood St.). Come to the main entrance and look for the signs.

Registration begins Monday, Sept. 23 at 9 a.m. People interested in taking courses can register online or in person at North Island College.
