The story of a WWII veteran haunted by his experiences in the war is the basis of Rivercity Players' fall production.
And the group has put out a call for actors for Shadows from a Low Stone Wall.
This drama was written by Quesnel resident Roy Teed, and tells the story of Jack, an aging veteran living in care with his youngest daughter Janey. He is still haunted by his experiences in the trenches of WWII and flashes back to scenes with Archie, a fellow soldier, in that time.
Rivercity is looking to cast the following parts:
2 Men:
- Jack, the veteran, age 65-80
- Archie, friend and subordinate, age 22-30
1 Woman:
- Janey, Jack’s daughter, age 35-50
Newcomers to the stage and/or Campbell River are welcome to come and audition.
This production will be directed by Robb Mowbray. Mowbray is new to Rivercity Players, but has years of experience in theatre roles such as directing, acting, adjudicating, as well as serving as Executive Director for Theatre BC.
Auditions will be held at the Rivercity Stage, 1080 Hemlock Street on Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. Call backs (if necessary) will be held Sunday, July 28, at 1 p.m. Production dates are Nov. 6 to 16.
There are many people needed to put a play together, and Rivercity Players is always looking for volunteers to help in the production roles. Whether your skills and interests are financial, organizational, technical or artistic, they have a place for you and would love to have your help to bring their productions to life. Working in the theatre is a team effort, and you're invited to join the team.
