Spring has sprung and so, the Campbell River Singers cordially invite you to their annual Spring Concert on Sunday, April 23at 2:30 p.m. at the Campbell River Baptist Church.

Director John Montgomery has picked a variety of pieces from many genres and ages. The Cole Porter song Anything Goes describes the program accurately, as the Singers offer the audience everything from a 16th century madrigal to The Beach Boys with stops in between.

Canadian Oscar Peterson’s Hymn to Freedom”holds the hope for liberty, dignity, and harmony for all. Watu Wote sung partly in Swahili, continues that theme of all the world singing together

Canadian and American folk songs range from the haunting Shenandoah to the silly Bile Them Cabbage Down Sea Shanties and rousing Gospel tunes bring us to the fun and familiar Best of the Beach Boys and Paul Simon’s Bridge Over Troubled Water.

The Singers are pleased to welcome to their concert, special guests, Maddy & Max, a talented string duo from Campbell River and Courtenay who will entertain us with pieces from their repertoire.

Spring on the River promises to be an entertaining afternoon of music and song for all. Bring the family and bring a friend.

Tickets are $20 available at the Music Plant or At the Door. Children six and under free.
