The Campbell River Singers will be presenting their 2024 Christmas concert, "Let There Be Christmas", on Dec. 7 at the Campbell River Baptist Church.

The Campbell River Singers have announced they will be presenting their 2024 Christmas concert, "Let There Be Christmas," on Dec. 7.

"Let There Be Christmas," by composer Joseph M. Martin, is a joyous celebration of hope, peace, love and wonder, states an October media release. The seventy-six-voice choir will be accompanied by a seventeen piece orchestra of talented local musicians, with piano accompanist Lynn Montgomery.

The cantata will present the Christmas story through song and narration. Traditional and familiar carols are woven throughout the original anthems and wonderful orchestration.

Choir conductor John Montgomery has also chosen selections from Vivaldi’s "Gloria" and Handel’s "Messiah," including the well-known and much loved “Hallelujah” chorus. And from contemporary composer John Leavitt, the choir will also be performing his 1991 composition, "Missa Festiva."

The performance promises to be a great way to start your Christmas season. Mark your calendar, call a friend, bring the family, and come enjoy an evening of Christmas celebration with the Campbell River Singers.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with the performance starting at 7:30 p.m.
