Campbell River Baptist Church will host Radiant: Creating a Deeper Life – a new interdenominational conference developed by Canadian women for Canadian women – on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Speakers Grace Fox and Heidi McLaughlin, and Juno nominee musician/comedienne Kelita Haverland will bring a message of hope, healing, and spiritual inspiration to women of all ages through biblical teaching, music, testimonies, and breakout sessions.

“We ‘re launching Radiant on Vancouver Island because we wanted to bring something special to the women here,” says founder Grace Fox. “I lived on Quadra Island for 11 years, and I understand the challenges of attending similar events on the mainland. We wanted to make this conference easily accessible to islanders.”

Fox says Radiant’s purpose is to encourage Christian women towards becoming mature disciples of Jesus Christ—joyfully surrendered to His purpose for their lives and using their spiritual gifts to both serve the local Church and engage in outreach within their community and abroad.

The speakers’ combined ministry experience includes decades of cross-cultural missions, Bible teaching, worship leading, church leadership roles, and frequent media appearances on programs including “100 Huntley Street.” Their breakout sessions address overcoming abuse, finding balance in a busy world, and growing an effective prayer life.

“Ultimately, the day is meant to whet women’s appetites for greater intimacy with God and to provide the tools to pursue it,” says Fox.

Radiant is a ministry of International Messengers Canada—a non-profit interdenominational organization that partners with nearly 200 career missionaries in 20 countries. Fox and her husband Gene (program director for Camp Homewood on Quadra Island from 1996-2007) are the national co-directors.

The conference costs $61 and includes lunch. Register at http://www.crbaptist.bc.ca/ministries/woman2woman/pages/radiant-creating-a-deeper-life).

The Campbell River conference is sponsored by International Messengers Canada, Williams Seeds, and That’s Life Communications.
