Andy Adams, Mayor of Campbell River, and Curtis Wilson, acting Wei Wai Kum Chief and artist, marked Aboriginal Day in Campbell River today with the raising of Wilson’s Canadian Native Flag.

Wilson created the flag while sitting at his dinner table thinking about who he was and where he came from. He decided that he wanted to create a design that represents both his cultural heritage and the country he lives in. The design he came up with he calls “Standing together in support of each other” and reflects his love of his country and his pride in his cultural heritage.
