Area student receives degree from Duke U.

Duke University awarded more than 5,300 undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees during its annual commencement ceremony May 15.

Alison Ross, who grew up in Campbell River and graduated from Southgate Secondary School was one of those graduates. She received a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University. She currently resides in Slave Lake, Alberta. Duke President Richard H. Brodhead presided over the ceremony at Wallace Wade Stadium, and men’s basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski delivered the commencement address.
