Environment Canada issues wind warning for Comox Valley, Campbell River

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for east Vancouver Island from Courtenay to Campbell River.

According to the warning, strong winds may cause damage in this area. The winds will take place Wednesday morning to afternoon, and are expected to peak at 70 km/h gusting to 90 km/h in some coastal areas and near Haro strait.

The winds will ease in the afternoon when the weather front weakens.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
