Local musicians will lend their talents to the Island Voices special Remembrance Day performances in Campbell River and the Comox Valley on November 11.

Special guests from the Comox Valley and Campbell River communities are preparing to join the Island Voices Choir for “Voices in Remembrance”, a moving program of word and song that honours the past and looks to the future with hope.

Some of the special guests reading in the Comox Valley performance will be Courtenay Mayor Larry Jangula, RCMP Corporal Lachapelle, Andre Melancon and Bruce Curtis.

Campbell River special guest readers include MLA Claire Trevena, Coun. Mary Storry, Rosaire Bernard, and Nick Preston.

The choir will be accompanied by well-known Comox Valley pianist Allan Webster, clarinetist Fred Kolls, violinist Tania Wu, and cellist Joyce Baker.

In Campbell River, piper Brian Shaw will open the concert.

Island Voices and its conductor, Jo-Anne Preston, invite everyone to come, on Sunday November 11, to either of the following Remembrance Day programs: 2 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Courtenay, or 7 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Campbell River.

Admission is by donation, with partial proceeds to the Royal Canadian Legion.
